Narrow lots and street parking
Many of the houses along South Congress sit close together with little to no driveway, so the truck usually parks on the street. We check ahead of time whether a permit is needed and how long the truck can legally sit there.
Older bungalows also tend to have narrower doorways than newer construction, so we measure big furniture pieces against the door before assuming a couch will make the turn.
Weekend foot traffic
South Congress gets busy on weekends with shoppers and diners, which can slow a truck trying to load or unload during peak hours. A weekday morning move usually goes faster simply because the street is quieter.
If your date has to be a Saturday, we plan the loading window around the busiest hours rather than fighting them.
Small businesses and studios
A number of our South Congress jobs are small retail spaces or studios rather than full homes, and those move fast once we know what is fragile and what is furniture. Inventory, shelving, and display pieces get handled with the same care as a living room.

Backyard casitas and converted garages are common on these lots too, and a move that includes one usually needs an extra hand for the separate structure.

Several small venues and rehearsal spaces sit along South Congress and its side streets, and a few of our jobs involve moving amps, cases, and stage gear rather than household furniture. Those loads need the same padding a piano would get, since a dropped amp cabinet is just as costly to replace.
